Here is a Travertine Floor clean and polish we performed in Wokingham near Berkshire.
The floor had been regularly professionally maintained by other companies and was due for another maintenance clean and polish to get it looking great again. The client wanted a satin finish to the floor and then a seal applied.
The Travertine floor tiles ran through most of the downstairs but the client only wanted the frequently used rooms to be cleaned and polished as other rooms still looked good. We were tasked with cleaning the Kitchen floor, hallway and toilet and then polishing the floor to match the dining room and other tiled floor. The tiles and grout required a deep clean first so we used an alkali floor cleaner and oscillating machine to remove the dirt . We then resin filled approx 20 holes often found in travertine from its forming. Once the floor was clean and filled we began polishing it. Where scratches were an issue we started on a 200 grit honing pad to remove the scratches and then worked the floor up through to 400 and then 800 Grit taking the floor to the desired finish. Once the finish was achieved we impregnated the floor to help stop spills becoming stains and aid maintenance.
