Limestone Floor Deep Cleaning and Seal near Twyford in Berkshire
Pictures from a recent project to thoroughly deep clean a large area of 6 year old limestone floor tiles. The floor cleaning near Twyford in Reading was a few rooms including the Kitchen Diner, utility room and sitting room. The floor tiles and grout needed a deep clean before we applied an impregnating sealer to help keep the floor lookijng great. The process began by visiting the house to see what was required and carry out a free no obligation demonstration. This gave us the opportunity to ensure we could meet their requirements and allowed the client to see what the limestone floor would look like after the cleaning.
The limestone tiles and grout were cleaned with our specialist rotary scrub machine, its fitted with a splash guard so we can get right up to edges and furniture without worries about splashing surrounding areas.
With 6 years of dirt buildup we used an approach of two cleaning solutions to get the floor looing great again.
We began with an alkaline tile cleaning solution that we scrubbed the floor with using our rotary scrubbing machine. This machine was fitted with a medium grade nylon scrubbing brush that spins to scrub the floor and get into the grout for a really deep clean. Once this had worked to break down the dirt, we extracted the cleaning solution and dirt from the floor. Once this step was complete we then moved onto a Ph Neutral cleaning solution in our contra rotating scrub machine. This machine is fantastic at getting into the lower sections of a tile surface and some of the deep grout joints you can often find with natural stone flooring. The machine applies the solution, scrubs the floor and collects the dirt too.
Some of the edges were finished by hand and the floor was then moped for a final time and allowed to dry.
Once the floor was dry we applied two coats of a professional impregnating seal by hand. This provides a breathable seal to protect the natural stone from staining.
